I am a native Hoosier, growing up on the west side of Indianapolis. I got my first camera when I was 8, and saved all of my pennies for film and processing.

I stuck with it, eventually earning spots on the yearbook and newspaper staffs of my high school. I worked diligently as a teen to win a few photography awards in high school. I shot my first wedding at the tender age of 15, earning a cool fifty dollars. :)

In college, I studied photography as well as the medical sciences. I continued to learn all I could from other photographers, and by visiting galleries and viewing portfolios.

As an adult, I have broadened my scope to include many facets of photography, including weddings, indoor and outdoor portraiture, senior portraits, special event photography, animal, and nature photography. I have been a "photographer for hire" for over 25 years.

While my first medium was film (and processing my own), I now use mainly digital technology. This allows for so much more creativity that cannot be done behind the lens. One exmple of this would be the photo retouching that I do. This comes in handy, especially for senior portraits where the skin complexion may not be at its best. Blemishes, scars, pimples, and imperfections disappear like magic! I can even shave off a few pounds here and there :)

I have had a few photos published in a major newspaper, but I decided that journalism was not something I wanted to pursue. I enjoy the children and the happy events a lot more than the standard type of journalism work, which can sometimes get depressing.

I am married with 4 wonderful kids ranging in age from 2 to 13 years. I live on the south side of Indy, but I will travel up to 25 miles for photo jobs. I will travel further for a fee. In addition to photography, I enjoy web design, science, my pets (2 dogs, 2 cats), sewing, astronomy, and Euchre.
